Murat is a graduate of Bilgi University's Business Department in 2004. He began his career as a Sales Representative responsible for local chains at Unilever Turkey's sales department, a school he still values highly. He held various positions, including Customer Marketing Management, during his six years there.
In 2010, he transferred to Reckitt Benckiser and served as Commercial Marketing Category Manager and later as Chain Stores Sales Manager responsible for Migros.
In the restructuring process in 2013, he took on the task of establishing the Sales Development Department from scratch within Mars Inc. Turkey. After leading projects such as establishing distributor sales systems, creating the merchandising team, determining sales success criteria, and transforming them into a regular grading system, he served as Sales Manager for the Modern Retail Channel for about three years.
In 2018, he had the opportunity to learn and experience the dynamics of the out-of-home sector at Nestle Professional, where he worked in charge of the strategic customers channel.
In January 2019, he joined Barilla Turkey as a Board Member responsible for Modern Retail Sales. Continuing as the Sales Director since July 2020, he will take on the role of General Manager as of December 2021.
In addition to his active sales role, he volunteers in various D&I projects within Barilla's inclusivity and internalization vision. In 2020, he received training on "Preventing Domestic Violence" and "Gender Equality" in collaboration with Sabanci University, subsequently serving as an internal trainer for all blue-collar and white-collar employees at Barilla. He is also a member of the new term board of directors of the "Lead Network Turkey Association," which aims to help women progress faster in their corporate careers, and serves as the President of the Education Committee.
